Wasatch Contour Cutting Option Add-On
Wasatch's Contour Cutting Option* includes the Wasatch Tracer which provides a streamlined option for creating contour cut paths directly within SoftRIP. The Tracer is quick and interactive, and equally effective for both raster and vector graphics.
The Contour Cutting Option also provides an updated workflow for contour cutting. With powerful tools and fewer steps needed to prepare cut jobs, it is the premier solution for your print-and-cut needs. Whether you use SoftRIP to create your contour cut paths or you use cut paths generated in a third party graphics application, the new cutting workflow streamlines the process to save you time and hassle.
Simple Contour Cutting
Wasatch processes complex shapes of any kind, maintaining the integrity of those shapes when images are nested or duplicated in SoftRIP. With print-and-cut workflows, SoftRIP's ability to track register marks between different printing and cutting devices assures a smoother workflow and more accurate registration.
Automate Your Print-and-Cut Workflow with Barcodes
SoftRIP allows you to utilize the barcode system of your Roll cutter to automate your print-and-cut production process. With this workflow, each job is printed by SoftRIP with a unique barcode. Once the cutter reads the printed barcode, the barcode is sent to SoftRIP and the corresponding cut job is sent to the cutter. After the cutter cuts the contour path, it scans for the next barcode and repeats the process. This innovative feature allows for a whole Roll of media to be cut with minimal user intervention. This feature is available with select Summagraphics and Mutoh models.
Cut Device Compatibility
The Contour Cutting Option is compatible with cutters and print-and-cut plotters from leading manufacturers, and the generic cutter driver works with virtually every HPGL-compatible cutting device. Whether you're using a print-and-cut plotter or printing your images on one device and cutting the shapes on another, Wasatch SoftRIP has a solution for you.
Wasatch SoftRIP allows you to quickly prepare special cutting marks that can be used with Fotoba's line of cutters. You can then use SoftRIP's powerful Smart Nesting feature to automatically optimize your layout to meet your printing objectives. And, with SoftRIP's dynamic display, you can immediately see the changes you make to your layout and how your Fotoba Marks are adjusted.
With the Fotoba Option, you can select from a variety of horizontal and vertical mark types. You can also choose from preset mark sizes or customize a mark size to fit your specific workflow. With such a variety of options to choose from, you can produce Fotoba Marks that work for nearly any production situation.
Table Cutting Option*
Wasatch SoftRIP's Table Cutting Option lets you print identifying barcodes in the margins of i-cut®, Zünd, and OptiSCOUT jobs and to name output files to match those barcodes. This simplifies the cutting workflow by allowing the table cutting software to scan the barcode on the print and automatically pick the correct corresponding cutting file.
The Table Cutting Option also allows you to add a barcode prefix of up to two digits so multiple RIPs with multiple print units can produce unique barcodes for every print unit on every system. This is useful in shops where multiple copies of SoftRIP may generate output for a single table cutter.
With this option, you can print barcodes that are stretched along one axis, so they are more readable but don't require any extra margin. You can also pass color names out as layers which the table cutting system can then flexibly translate into such things as changes of the cutting tool, router cutting depth, etc.
